I’ve had experience writing scripts, structuring, and editing videos both for class work and personal motivation!

Machinima “Daddy’s Home”

Working on a small team, we were tasked with creating a machinima based on the story beats of a popular tale. We chose to follow the beats from the Odyssey, when Odysseus returns home and completes tasks to prove his identity amongst the pursuers. In our horror short “Daddy’s Home,” we shift the perspective to the family encountering a stranger taking the fathers place.

  • We were each tasked to write a page of the script, after which I went through revised all the pages for cohesion.

  • While not my strong suit, I acquired, adjusted, and implemented animations for Daddy's Home. I should note that while I added the majority of the animations, other team members did help out! I scene breakdown can be provided at request

  • I added the slight movements to the camera to add to the immersion.

(Note: I was not responsible for the "old camera" effects. That was the fantastic work of another team member!)

  • When sourcing the models for the family, they did not have clothes, so I modeled and textured a set of clothes for each family member. (Not including the boots on the father, these were acquired from a third party site and adjusted).

    • Lead meetings.

    • Established story boards and beats.

    • Clarified misunderstandings, and workloads.

    • Provided documentation references.

    • Lighting

    • Finding and recording lines with the Child Voice Actor

    • Sequencing, animation, and scene placement in Unreal Engine
